Chief editor:
Once upon a time,
I was a little boy.
There was no crime;
Just I reaved all joy.
I feared with the ghost
That I have lost!
It was the time
When I had gained
The punishment from mother!
There was the rhyme
Of kiss on my pain;
That was imposed by father.
But now, these are
Going to be lost!
And one day,
It will utterly be lost.
Here “Falsehood” means the betrayal existence of childhood. Because, childhood is the most beautiful moment as well as the honey like moment. But this honey like moment is seen as the reverse at the time when adulthood comes. Ultimately childhood flies away with the entrance of adulthood. Thus childhood gets its new identity to be falsehood. So childhood is certainly “falsehood” with no doudt.
Writer of the poem is Mehedi Hasan, student of the Department of English of Rajshahi College.
